Ready, set and go, go, go for Nor-Shipping 2022

A packed activity programme awaits, with networking, knowledge sharing events, lively exhibition halls, and all the very latest ocean and maritime developments and innovations distilled into one unmissable experience.

Exhibiting ambition

As ever, the Nor-Shipping exhibition itself is arguably the main draw, with four spacious halls housing hundreds of exhibitors from over 30 different nations – not to mention thousands of ocean decision makers strolling around to network, discover and soak up the very latest innovations and developments. Expect the unexpected across a diverse array of stands, with national pavilions from Turkey, Denmark, Germany, Spain, USA, UK, Japan, and The Netherlands, to name a few.

The Blue Economy Hall will be a key hunting ground, with an emphasis on showcasing and enabling breakthrough sustainable solutions, technologies and partnerships. Experience leaders from the energy, finance, communications, tech, logistics, security, science, regulatory – and many more – segments all gathering to share knowledge and help accelerate change. 12 individual Blue Talks sessions will also take place here, with hour-long discussions on the industry’s hottest topics, delivering valuable takeaways and unique insights.

The value of leadership

An audience of around 950 C-level executives will gather to hear key names from maritime, politics, academia, big business, and beyond discussing today’s and tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities at the Ocean Leadership Conference on 4 April. Geopolitical developments, and how to adjust to them, will be centre stage, with Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the former Secretary General of NATO and Prime Minister of Denmark, as headline speaker, while the overall event will focus on the central themes of People, Power and Money.

Further leading names sharing their unique insights include, Kitack Lim, Secretary General IMO, Kjerstin Braathen, CEO DNB, Håkan Agnevall, President & CEO Wärtsilä Corporation, Magda Kopczynska, Director for Innovative and Sustainable Mobility DG MOVE, and Knut Arild Hareide, Director General of Navigation and Shipping, Norwegian Maritime Authority, amongst others.

The social scene

After such a long period of enforced isolation, meeting contacts, colleagues and the entire industry community face-to-face is bound to be a highlight for most Nor-Shipping delegates. In a demonstration of this growing excitement, both the Nor-Shipping Opening Party (4 April) and the Official Nor-Shipping Party (6 April) quickly sold out, while the diverse array of networking and partner events show the obvious hunger for meeting up and “getting back to business”.

For those eager to sow the seeds of business opportunity in an informal, relaxed environment – or just to eat, drink and have some fun – Oslo’s city centre location of Aker Brygge will operate as the Nor-Shipping networking hub, with ‘After Work at Aker Brygge’. Expect an inclusive, community atmosphere throughout a host of popular bars, restaurants and exclusive venues set aside for the use of Nor-Shipping supporters and visitors.

Events for everyone

A packed programme of events tailored to meet specific industry opportunities and challenges also await ocean decisionmakers. The International Ship Autonomy and Sustainability Summit delves into the latest industry developments and technological advances, while The Maritime Hydrogen Conference assesses prospects for one of the most promising fuels in our transition to a zero-emission future.

Nor-Shipping has partnered with business accelerator Katapult Ocean to launch the first Blue Economy Start-up Day on 7 April at Nor-Shipping 2022.

Further high points include: The Quality Flag Forum, which this year also integrates WISTA’s Waves of Change conference into proceedings; Brazil@Nor-Shipping, shining a light on one of the world’s most dynamic offshore markets; Technical Seminars, with half-hour sessions to drill down into specific solutions and services; Young@Nor-Shipping, focusing on nurturing and developing the next generation of industry leaders; and the Blue Economy Start-up Day, bringing together investors with the innovations and talent of tomorrow.

And that’s really just the tip of the iceberg.

Visitors are encouraged to download the Nor-Shipping app and order tickets before arrival. Public transport in Oslo City Centre and between Oslo and Lillestrøm on train is included within the price of the visitor, conference or exhibition pass.

See you at Nor-Shipping 2022. We can’t wait to welcome you back!
