Jointly organized by India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and the Embassy of India in Norway, this session marks the beginning of a sustained presence at key international maritime platforms.
As the world charts the course towards a more resilient, innovative and sustainable maritime future, India is navigating a transformative path. Anchored in cutting-edge infrastructure development, technological innovation, and a strong commitment to sustainability, India is emerging as reliable and capable hub for global shipbuilding and maritime services. Guided by the principles of equitable growth, India is well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to future-proofing the maritime sector by leveraging its strategic location, vast maritime potential, skilled maritime workforce and growing innovation ecosystem.
The session will serve as a platform to foster meaningful dialogue with global counterparts, explore avenues for strategic collaborations and enable exchange of best practices across the maritime spectrum.

Theme 1: Transforming Shipping and Shipbuilding Ecosystems | 13:15 – 14:00
Explore how India is charting a transformative course towards becoming a global hub for shipbuilding and allied industry driven by international collaborations, policy reform and integrated value chains. The discussion will focus on shipbuilding and repair clusters, capacity enhancement and leveraging India’s scale advantage in building modern, sustainable vessels and related ancillaries.
Theme 2: Ship Recycling –Enabler to Circular Economy and Sustainable Maritime | 14:00 – 14:30
With one of the highest market shares in global ship recycling and a front-runner in Hong Kong Convention (HKC) compliance, India is setting benchmarks in environmentally responsible recycling practices. The session will provide insights into emerging policies, regulatory frameworks and infrastructure developments that are shaping the future of this mature and globally significant sector.
Theme 3: Reimagining Ports as Green Energy Hubs | 14:40 – 15:15
India is fostering innovation by integrating renewable energy and green hydrogen/ammonia production into port ecosystems. This discussion will highlight India’s vision of transforming ports as anchors for green fuel production and bunkering, renewable energy integration and green shipping corridors.
Theme 4: Innovative Financing for Maritime Growth | 15:15 – 15:50
Financing the maritime transition is critical to enabling advanced, greener and digitally enabled infrastructure. This segment will spotlight India’s strategic initiatives and innovative financing models—including blended finance, targeted incentives and institutional frameworks – to catalyze investments across the maritime value chain.
