The Opening Ceremony

The grand opening of Nor-Shipping will take place Monday 10 January 2022, hosted by the mayor of Oslo at Oslo City Hall.

The 2022 opening ceremony will be held in the majestic main hall, where it also was held in 2019, and focus on young entrepreneurs, next generation ships, women in shipping and ocean opportunities. The winners of the Nor-Shipping Young Entrepreneur Award, Next Generation Ship Award and the all new Ocean Solutions Award will be revealed at the ceremony.

The prominent guestlist includeds the Norwegian Minister of Trade, international government officials, delegate from the UN, ambassadors, top CEO`s, startups and maritime professionals. The Norwegian Roayl House is invited, and was represented by His Majesty King Harald V of Norway in 2019.

The Mayor of Oslo, Marianne Borgen, is the official host of the ceremony, will lead the proceedings from the dstage together witn Nor-Shipping. The Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry will deliver one of the keynote speeches, while global charity Mercy Ships details its work helping and healing those in need.

Speakers will highlight #ACTION, ocean opportunities and challenges. Music on the day is provided by a talented Norwegian musician (TBC), followed by an exclusive drinks reception hosted by the Mayor of Oslo.

The Opening Ceremony will be informative, but also enjoyable. Nor-Shipping is known as an arena where doing business is a pleasure, as industry colleagues network and build fruitful relationships in environments that are often as entertaining as they are productive.
