Star Information Systems is, together with the pilot customer OKEA, carrying out a project with the aim to significantly reduce the operational costs for the Draugen field. Our contribution to the reduction is the development of digital systems and support functions for operation and maintenance. These solutions will be generic and beneficial for the global oil & gas industry and maritime operators. Innovation Norway contributes with NOK 8.4 million in financial support to the project.
«This is a significant milestone for STAR and the maritime industry cluster in Trøndelag. We are proud and humble. Looking forward to further developing high-standard digital solutions for the maritime industry. Together with our good partner, OKEA, we will succeed!» says Bjørn Martin Klokkernes, COO and Managing Director in Norway.
Together with OKEA, we will develop new and improved software that further digitizes their processes, simplifies the basis for decision-making, and improves the utilization of resources. Increasing production with fewer input factors provides a truly sustainable improvement. Sustainability through digitalization Star Information Systems has a clear ESG strategy, which has also been influential in the assessment from Innovation Norway. Our EAM system has several integrated functions for measuring, controlling, and ensuring sustainable procedures. This project supports two of our focus goals for sustainability: developing innovative solutions to achieve sustainable production and consumption.
Both Star Information Systems and OKEA originate from the technology city of Trondheim and collaborate with NTNU and SINTEF for research-based activities. With OKEA as a pilot customer, we have the best local partner in this innovation project. It provides the basis for developing solid and efficient digital systems, with documented and measurable improvements for the maritime sector.
