Nor-Shipping Next Generation Ship Award

With a focus on innovation, the Next Generation Ship Award honors the most promising design for ships that will be at sea in the coming decade.

What ship project will be the next to impress the jury and the maritime industry and receive the Nor-Shipping Next Generation Ship Award 2019? Time is ticking to enter the Nor-Shipping Next Generation Award. As we are now in the first week of February, the 1 March closing date for the award is just weeks away.

Bring your work to a wider audience
Since the last Nor-Shipping exhibition in 2017, a high number of innovative ships have either been delivered or have been announced as in development or on order.
This is an exciting period in ship design and construction, while trading conditions may not be the best that have ever been experienced, there is ample evidence that ship designers and shipowners are prepared to take bold pioneering steps to meet the latest challenges.

Nor-Shipping would like to invite those owners and designers to bring their work to a wider audience and to perhaps have the opportunity to see it recognised by carrying off the prestigious Nor-Shipping Next Generation Ship Award 2019.

The award will be handed out in front of a prominent industry audience at the Nor-Shipping Opening Ceremony. All four nominees will be publicly honored for their innovative ship design.

Open to all ship types
The award is open to all ship types from small ferries and tugs to the largest box ship, bulker or tanker and everything in between. Although it may difficult to evaluate such differing ship types, a highly experienced jury will do just that. Judging each ship on its merits and eventually selecting a winner.

There may be only one prize and one winner (joint entries are permitted and each party will be recognised), but every entrant will see their vessel or design showcased to all visitors and exhibitors at this year’s major maritime exhibition.

Full details of the entry criteria and appropriate forms can be found at the Next Generation Ship Award website.
