Oslo leading shipping’s digital tech innovations

The readers of the maritime news site Splash have voted Oslo as the city leading shipping’s digital tech innovations.

“Every quarter we run a topical survey on our site, Splash, results of which are then carried in each issue of Maritime CEO magazine. Typically each survey, which we have christened MarPoll, gets more than 500 votes. Over the summer we asked readers which city was leading shipping’s tech revolution,” explains Sam Chambers, Splash’s editor.

“Despite strong numbers for Singapore, Oslo came out on top. Norway as a whole with Oslo at its core is a fantastic petri dish for many of the most exciting, ambitious developments shaping the future of shipping,” Chambers comments.

The poll from Splash underlines Oslo’s position as one of the world’s leading maritime capitals. Earlier this year Menon Economics launched the third edition of the Leading Maritime Capitals of the World report, where Oslo was among the highest ranked.
